A Message from Peter
What kind of teacher am I? Well, I have over twenty-five years’ experience in Film, Theatre and Voice Over. To date I have recorded over 10,000 voice-overs, 150 hours of episodic television and over 150 TV commercials for the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria and Eastern Europe, including three of the longest running ad campaigns for banking, technology, communication and the internet. In the corporate world I have worked in more than 10 countries and have worn many hats including: writer, technical director, voice coach, host, interviewer and presenter.
This experience, and the fact that I am a fun, practical and playful actor first, means that my teaching style is hands-on, fast-paced and extremely practical. I know what the business is looking for, and I can help you to achieve that. I give clear, precise and challenging directions and am very observant -always working with you so that you can reach your potential. But most importantly, I never judge: I treat lessons like rehearsals - with me you will be in a fun, safe environment where it is ok to get things wrong.
My Reel bundles and one-to-one teaching are incredibly practical and physical. Over the 25+ years that I have been working as an actor and voice-over artist, I have developed many of my own techniques, and I hope to share many of these with you through my teaching, as well as exploring techniques used by Meisner, Kristin Linklater, Cis Berry, and Jo Estill to enable you to become more confident using your voice in small and large performance spaces or on the microphone.
I enjoy my teaching practice very much - watching my students grow in confidence, knowledge and in their ability to put that knowledge and understanding into practice. If you would like to see some of the great feedback I have received from my past and present students, then please click here to read their comments.
